About the Team

The Finance team at Empathy ensures smooth financial operations while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The team plays a crucial role in handling payroll, benefits, and all People Ops related financial processes.

By supporting both employees and the business, the Finance team helps drive consistency, accuracy, and efficiency across operations.

In this role you will

Payroll, Tax & Benefits:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on payroll, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, labor codes, and company policies.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of personal income tax legislation, social benefits, and employment laws, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all payroll and benefits processes.
  • Perform audit on employee expenses, benefits costs, and various payroll balance sheet accounts.
  • Process year-end payroll reporting. Ensure proper taxation of employer-paid benefits.
  • Participate in projects and support testing for system enhancements or new implementations related to payroll and benefits.

Finance Operations:

  • Manage and oversee day-to-day finance operations related to people processes, including payroll administration and benefits management.
  • Ensure adherence to company finance policies and processes, driving consistency and compliance across operations.
  • Support the U.S. monthly close and Budget vs. Actual (BVA) processes, providing accurate financial insights and reconciliation.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations, labor codes, and relevant financial policies.
  • Oversee travel operations processes, ensuring efficient handling of employee travel-related expenses and reimbursements.
  • Identify process improvement and automation opportunities and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce risk within payroll and finance operations.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless execution of payroll and benefits strategies.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership, business operations, and other departments to align sales processes and operations.
  • Provide expert-level guidance on payroll and benefits to employees, ensuring clarity and understanding.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to continuously improve finance operations.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in finance operations, payroll, or a related field.
  • Expertise in: Payroll processing, Tax regulations, Benefits administration
  • Strong understanding of U.S. personal income tax legislation, labor codes, and social benefits.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Hebrew.
  • Proficiency with payroll-related systems and financial software.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

The salary for this position ranges between $80,000-$120,000 . This is decided based on many factors, including but not limited to: skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
