We have been partnering with the world's largest Life Insurance carriers, but many out there still need to learn and adopt the Empathy solution. We offer a suite of products, all built with policyholders, beneficiaries, and Life Insurance professionals in mind. Our flagship product is a digital loss companion that serves as a steadfast ally for families, aiding them through every facet of bereavement, from funeral arrangements to estate management and navigating the complexities of grief and family dynamics. At Empathy, we're witnessing accelerated growth within the Life Insurance industry, gaining momentum with carriers nationwide and across various Life Insurance categories. We are seeking an exceptional business development leader to spearhead our endeavors in this domain and unlock the vast growth potential before us.

In this role you will

  • Cultivate and oversee a dynamic sales pipeline within the Life Insurance sector.
  • Formulate strategic deal models and cultivate substantial, intricate partnerships.
  • Identify and capitalize on new business prospects, driving revenue and fostering sustainable financial growth.
  • Lead negotiations throughout the sales process to secure favorable terms and agreements for multi-year contracts.
  • Foster connections with industry experts for strategic collaborations and business expansion.
  • Collaborate closely with Product and Marketing teams to develop holistic solutions.
  • Tag team with other Life Insurance department members, at industry events and joint deals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of successful leadership experience within the Life Insurance sector.
  • 3+ years of experience in hands-on business development work, from value creation to contract negotiation, funnel creation, and opportunity management.
  • Proven track record of surpassing quotas in high-growth sales environments.
  • Profound understanding of US Life Insurance products/services and claims decision-making processes.
  • Strong presentation skills tailored to C-Suite/Executive Leadership Teams.
  • Willingness to travel to multiple sales regions across the U.S. (approximately 35% travel).

Preferred:

  • Experience working in/with Distribution divisions of Life Insurance organizations
  • Strong understanding of Life Insurance agents’ needs and pain points
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Salesforce and Gmail.

Salary Range: $150-195K Base / 250-400k OTE + equity + benefits. Our salary is to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, skills, locations, and other job-related qualifications.
